We are seeking a highly motivated, learner-centered educator with a growth mindset who has experience teaching grades 9, 10, and 11. The ideal candidate will be flexible and excited to cooperate with a team of dynamic, professional languages teachers to plan, deliver, and assess student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. You will hold high expectations for students and will be comfortable differentiating content and instruction for all learners.
German Teacher Grades 9 to 11 - for August 2026
Main responsibilities include the following:
- Plan, deliver, and assess an inquiry-based German curriculum that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and high expectations for learning.
- Differentiate content and instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners within a multilingual student population.
- Collaborate closely with a dynamic team of language teachers to design curriculum and share pedagogical best practices.
- Integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students and colleagues to maintain a caring and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate actively in school life and enthusiastically contribute to the ZIS co-curricular program.
- Commit to ongoing professional development, self-reflection, and the continuous development of our language program.
Qualification and Experience:
- A valid teaching license, including a specialism in teaching German to fluent language learners.
- A strong understanding of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
- A BA / BSc or equivalent university degree.
- A documented record of excellence in teaching.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience is preferred, ideally at an international school (international experience is required for non-Swiss/EU applicants).
- Experience teaching IB Diploma Program courses is highly desirable.
Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships across a diverse school community.
